Beginning January 2, 2012 The Meat Shop will closed Sundays and Mondays and begin our Spring-Summer Hours.  Please see our Spring-Summer hours schedule at the bottom of the page.

BULK BEEF SALE:

Our early spring bulk beef sale has turned into a blizzard of a beef sale with this weather!  Here's the information on the bulk beef sale.
 
Whole, Half, and Split Half Beef-save $1.00 lb. @ $4.28 lb.
Front Quarter-save $1.00 lb. @ $4.19 lb.
Hind Quarter-save $1.00 lb. @ $4.98 lb.
 
Whole Beef with an approximate weight of 600# at the sale price saves $600.00.
Half Beef with an approximate weight of 300# at the sale price saves $300.00.
Split Halves, Hind Quarters, and Front Quarters with an approximate weight of 150# at the sale price saves $150.00.
 
An example of the total savings and total cost per lb. for the bulk ordered beef can be explained
further by looking at the average cutting loss and total cost per lb. of the cut and wrapped bulk
ordered beef.  The cutting loss can be less or more depending on the individual cutting instructions of the bulk ordered beef.  More boneless cuts equal greater cutting loss of weight in bones.  Please see the bulk cutting instructions for more detailed cutting options here http://www.meatshopoftacoma.com/pdf/bulk_ordering_beef.pdf
 
Bulk beef with an average cutting loss of 25% have a total cost per lb. for the packaged beef as follows:
 
Whole Beef after cutting 450# = a total cost per lb. of $5.71 lb.
Half Beef after cutting 225# = a total cost per lb. of $5.71 lb.
Split Half Beef after cutting 112.50# = a total cost per lb. of $5.71 lb.
Front Quarter Beef after cutting 112.50# = a total cost per lb. of $5.59 lb.
Hind Quarter Beef after cutting 112.50# = a total cost per lb. of $6.64 lb.
 
The average cutting loss puts the cut and wrap price of all the bulk beef orders at
less then regular or sale price extra lean ground beef.  In other words if you
were to buy the ground beef at regular price it is $6.99 lb. and the weekly specials
sale price is usually @ $5.90 lb. therefor, the price per lb. is less then the
sale price on all bulk beef ordering except the Hind Quarters.  The Hind Quarters
are less then ground beef at regular price but not less then sale price. 
This includes all of your bulk beef, so that puts all of your steaks at
the total cost per lb. as well saving an average of at least $10.00 per lb.
 
No additional cash discount or free items will be deducted or given to the
sale bulk beef orders.  Customer cards will not be eligible for marks or
points towards additional store credit, free items or cash discounts.
